Park Ridge South sits below Park Ridge on the growth corridor that runs down the Mount Lindesay Highway, and like its neighbour it is mostly newer housing with some older acreage mixed through it. Those two groups need completely different things from a roofer.
If your roof is young, say so when you fill in the form, because it changes the conversation for the better. A restoration is not the job. What is worth doing is the maintenance and repair work that keeps a young roof young: storm damage repaired properly, leaks traced rather than patched, gutters cleared and checked for capacity, roof penetrations and flashings inspected, and a written inspection while your builder's warranty period still has time to run.
Storm damage deserves its own mention. Wind and hail are the normal trigger for an unplanned roof job in South East Queensland, and a new roof is no more immune to a lifted cap or a hail hit than an old one. We publish no storm or hail frequency figure, because we have not found a Logan-specific one worth quoting.
On the older and acreage blocks here, the picture is different. Tile roofs get the standard sequence of clean, tile repairs, rebedding and repointing, then sealer and coating. Sheet metal roofs, including sheds and outbuildings, get metal roof restoration: rust treatment and conversion, new screws and seals, sheet replacement where needed, then primer and two coats.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know whether my roof needs restoring or just a check?
Age is the first filter and condition is the real test. Under fifteen years, almost certainly a check. Over thirty, almost certainly a restoration. In between, an inspection decides it.
Do you cover both Park Ridge and Park Ridge South?
Yes, they are separate localities and both are in the City of Logan. Park Ridge has its own page.
Can you look at a shed roof as well?
Yes. On a larger block that is usually part of the same job, priced per square metre of sheeting, and it is cheaper done with the house than on its own.
